MY 2ND MONTH BLOG REPORT GIVES YOU AN INSIDE LOOK INTO BEHIND THE SCENES STATS AND GOALS.
Welcome to my first blog report! Initially, I began writing this piece to solely review goals. But what the hey—I’ll go ahead and throw a some stats in there as well.
I’m super excited to write this blog report as it’ll be an awesome way to document progress and share with you my journey along the way. I hope you’ll find a little inspiration as well as peace knowing you’re not alone in your blogging adventures.
To give you a little perspective, I have a full-time job at this time and I dedicate roughly six hours each week to blogging. However, I’d love to bump this number up a bit!

October goals
Publish six articles » Miss. I published a whopping three. Largely thanks to my Crafting A Blog From Scratch post. At that time, I was going through some transitions as work which left me a little drained. Combined with organizing and writing the content for that post—you get the idea! 😉

Average of five users a day (155 users total) » Success! This might not sound like much, but up until October 16th I was only seeing an average of three users a day. Much to my surprise, a pin for this post took off mid-month, giving me 30+ users for a couple of days. Traffic died off, but picked up a bit more again towards the end of the month… and then dwindled again. I ended the month at an average of 8+ users a day.
Create one opt-in freebie » Miss. At first, I dabbled a bit with PowerPoint to create my first freebie. But at the moment, I’m using InDesign to see where that takes me. I’m happy that I’ve started the process and am on track—it’s just taking me a little longer than I anticipated. I was hoping I would at least have one freebie designed and ready to be implemented.
250 Pinterest followers » Miss. I started the beginning of the month with about 125, so knew this would be a steep goal for me. The month ended at 184.
Finalize new font for logo » Success! I found my new logo font on Creative Market. You definitely need to check out this website if you’re looking for fonts, graphics, templates, etc. They even have six free goods available every Monday! I’ve scored some awesome fonts this way.
Roll out new pin / featured image template » Success! I created the look for the images you see now on Sprinkle in Joy. To be honest, I was a bit hesitant with this look, as it’s not quite as classic or traditional as a lot of the pins you may find on Pinterest. But I felt strongly about creating images more my style. And the pin that gave me a bump in traffic was with the new look so it can’t be too bad, right? I am still going to create another pin template (or two) in the future for the sake of testing out the waters with different looks, but will plan on keeping my new look for the blog itself.
New logo and pin template update: Ahem… I did find a new font logo and create a new pin template in October, but followed through with a branding shift in November. But I can say with confidence that I’m very pleased with the new (new) look. What do you think?
November goals
Publish 6 articles » I’m going to try my hardest to achieve this goal! On the days I work from home, I plan on waking up at the time I would normally on the days I go into the office. This would give me an extra 1.5 hours one or two days each week to write content.
Average 20 users a day (600 users total) » Starting off the month of November, I’m sitting at ~5 users per day again. I’m new to setting traffic goals (and not sure what to expect still since my blog is new), so we’ll see if this is easily achievable or too steep.
Create one opt-in freebie and post to blog » I haven’t researched too much into the logistics of actually adding a freebie to my website or subscription form. So I’m anticipating this might have a tiny learning curve.
Design Pinterest board covers » I would love to have a cohesive, branded look for my Pinterest account. Just need to plan my design and figure out the correct image size! Shouldn’t be too difficult.
250 Pinterest followers » I have hope in reaching this number. Towards the end of October, I’ve gained a number of non-blog account followers, which is exciting!
Reach 100K monthly Pinterest viewers » Since having a certain number of Pinterest followers isn’t the end all, I’d like to focus on a target number for how many people I reach. To do this, I plan on pinning more (I currently pin roughly 20 pins each day) and diving deeper into Tailwind, possibly trying it for the month to see where that takes me. I’m also hoping to create more boards (now at 14) and apply to more group boards (now at 8).
Did you hit your October goals and what goals would you love to reach in November? Feel free to share a link to your most recent blog report!
Congrats Onto the Goals You reached Last month! I’m all For Following What you want rather than going with what everyone else is doing And I’m sure you’ll attract your loyal readers that way! Best Of luck With this month’s Goals! ????
Thank you Kate for your kind words! Yes, sometimes it is best to do you own thing which is important to remember, although I know it can be easy to fall into trying to match others instead of focusing on our own path. Your support is much appreciated!
